Turkey, with its unique coastlines and clear seas, is a popular destination for maritime and yachting enthusiasts around the world. However, there are some legal requirements to navigate in Turkish waters and one of these requirements is the Transit Log.
What is Transit Log?
Transit Log, also known as "Turkish Ports Yacht Registration Document", is a mandatory document that all domestic and foreign flagged boats that will sail in Turkey's territorial waters and ports must have. This document ensures that boats can enter and exit Turkish ports, sail between Turkish ports and winter in Turkish ports.
Where is Transit Log Used and How to Obtain It?
Transit Log document is obtained at the border gates for yachts entering and leaving Turkey. Ports of entry along the Turkish coast are Trabzon, Giresun, Ordu, Samsun, Hopa, Rize, Sinop, Zonguldak, Tekirdağ, Istanbul, Çanakkale, Bandırma, Akçay, Ayvalık, Dikili, İzmir, Çeşme, Kuşadası, Didim (Söke), Güllük, Bodrum, Datça, Marmaris, Fethiye, Kaş, Finike, Kemer, Antalya, Alanya, Anamur, Taşucu, Mersin, Botaş, Bartın, Gemlik, Mudanya, Bozyazı, İnebolu, Derince, Ereğli, and İskenderun Ports. Boats docking at any of these ports can renew and update their Transit Log documents here.

Duration and Validity of Transit Log
The Transit Log document is valid for one year, and if the destination is to go outside the ports specified in the document, a new Transit Log document will need to be issued or corrected. Additionally, the Transit Log document becomes invalid in case of departure from Turkish ports and territorial waters and must be re-issued.
